The pencil skirt – to me – is both feminine and powerful. They’re beautiful in the, “silk scarf draped over your luxurious sofa,” type of way.
Or at least that’s how I feel when I wear them 😉
Unfortunately, I didn’t feel femme fatale for the whole shoot because a bus put itself in the middle of the road between Denisa and I and I had to avoid looking at the people gawking at me on the bus, wondering why I wasn’t wearing a coat on a cold winter’s day. Oops.
This is the first time you’re seeing me in a pencil skirt. Honestly, I don’t wear them a lot in my daily life despite the fact that I love them. I just don’t have enough of them yet. I really don’t. Like an only-two-in-my-closet-but-they-don’t-all-fit type way. This is the same problem I have with blazers.
Isn’t it sad that your top two favourite articles of clothing are ones you don’t have enough of? #firstworldproblems
Talk about coping with your closet – and a lifestyle that doesn’t fit the way you want to dress.
I picked this skirt up after my intense excursion in Banana Republic’s dressing room. To save myself from buying a whole bunch of things in one go (see what I actually bought here), I bought this later online.
It’s a size 4 regular, I believe. I made it work for this post but it’s actually big on me. Same with the sweater – size small. I was gifted it by my boyfriend’s Mom for Christmas. Luckily, they’re a match made in heaven.
Can you go wrong with navy and burgundy?
I paired this outfit with a nude heel to elongate my legs and finished with some understated accessories.
I’m a fan of dainty jewellery and sleek belts. I like the everyday subtle elegance to it. You’re much more likely to see me in understated jewellery than statement. Although, I do believe in the importance of owning a variety of options to dress the way you feel, whenever you may be feeling it 🙂
Great, now I want to go shopping…
This area is one of two of my favourite areas in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. It’s in Walkerville and it is home to some of the best selection of restaurants in Windsor, IMO.
The main building you see in this post is The Gourmet Emporium. It is gorgeous on the outside and I love their patio. It was the perfect location to shoot an outfit with bold colours.
