Trench coats are probably my favourite style of coat. They’re both classic and sophisticated. Someday I’ll get a Burberry one as my ultimate investment trench. For now, though, I’m going with other trench options that fit my budget – like this lightweight trench coat from DailyLook for spring 🙂
I bought this trench from a clothing subscription box by DailyLook back when I was still subscribed to their Elite service. Once I tried it on, it was easy to see that it was going to make a nice addition to my wardrobe.
I felt really good in it. The relaxed fit of the trench coat gives a nice touch of effortlessness.
In the fall, I wore this trench coat with an edgier palette of grey and black. For spring, I didn’t want the outfit to be dark so I paired it with this white cable knit sweater to both brighten it up and for added texture. Then I added these jeggings since I love olive green paired with white or blush. Popped on this black quilted crossbody for even more texture and finally these black booties to ground the look.

I’m big into textures when it comes to outfits and I also love to layer so I try to do both as much as I can with my limited wardrobe. In this outfit, I love the contrast of the cable knit sweater texture with the trench coat as well as the quilted crossbody on the other side of the coat 😀
With spring right around the corner, I’ve been preparing to update my wardrobe. There’s some things I want to purge that were just bad shopping decisions. I’m really trying to pay attention to what feels and looks the best for me as well as trying to fill in the gaping holes of my wardrobe.
The main things I want to add to my wardrobe for spring are outerwear and skirts.
Right now, I’m too reliant on pants and that doesn’t make for a variety of outfits if you’re continually pairing tops with pants. I want to be able to have skirts to mix and match as well as dresses. Same deal with outerwear. I only have a select amount of outerwear and almost no blazers 🙁

I love picking locations for my shoots. I like to pick ones that are both pretty and have sentimental value to me. Maiden Lane is a weird, little alley-style street in downtown Windsor and it is home to one of my favourite brunch spots, The Squirrel Cage, and a graffiti wall with my favourite Pokemon on it – Pikachu!
I love the feel of this street because it reminds me of a street that would be filled with people, shopping at little boutiques or sitting on benches chatting with passersby. It makes me excited for Paris – where I will be in May – because of the cute doors and awnings 🙂
Do you like the trench coat? What are you excited to do with your wardrobe with spring coming up?
