Something I’ve grown out of is animal print.
Nowadays, I feel like it makes me look less sophisticated than I want to be. But sometimes, your outfit needs a little pop of print. And if the print is right, it can create something magical 🙂
I have a preference when considering animal print.
I don’t like one that is too yellow. I want it to feel more like a neutral.
Think classic trench coat colour with brown print rather than Kraft Singles cheese and brown print 😛
I also like to opt for a print that isn’t too small or close together. I want the print to pop but not in a loud way and I think print that is more sparse or in a subdued colour will do just that.
I wore this outfit to a catch-up dinner with a girlfriend.
I wasn’t in the mood to wear a dress or a skirt but I wanted to feel sophisticated and not too casual.
This outfit is pretty similar to when I last wore this sweater and button-up combo here, but I switched out the pants to suit the outing, and added the animal print scarf for a pop of fun that said GIRLS NIGHT.
To top it off, I chose these brown and black ZARA boots based on the vibe of my trench and scarf.
Plus, the colour combo is killer with these pants! 😉
When you want to add a little twist to your outfit, try pairing it with things that you’re comfortable with 🙂
For me, I paired animal print (the twist) with a sweater and button-up combo (always makes me sit up straight) with a trench (sophistication), a little colour, and heeled boots to pull it all together.
Are there any colours or prints that you don’t usually wear but want to incorporate now and then?
