Do you ever get surprised by how well a piece in your closet actually works? I do. Normally, I gravitate towards sleeveless tops and dresses in the summer to beat the heat. But recently, while running around on a warm day, I realized that this long-sleeved blouse from Reitman’s was a winner 🙂
First off, it’s made of 100% Rayon and is weirdly breathable. The fabric is also lightweight and drapes nicely even though it wrinkles easily if not stored properly. Also, for a long-sleeved blouse, it keeps me surprisingly cool. It’s probably because the fabric around the armpits is not skin-tight so you get a bit of draft.
I also love that you can take this blouse from day to night 🙂
During the day, run errands by pairing your blouse with an a-line skirt like this one or this denim button skirt from Ann Taylor. In the evening, go for drinks by pairing it with this striped pant from Banana Republic or this tie waist wide leg pant from Ann Taylor.
Additionally, you can wear this to work in the summer by pairing it with this eyelet skirt from Ann Taylor.
When I’m considering a simple, solid top, I like to look for details that make it visually interesting. For example, I love this one and this one from Anthropologie. On this one, I love the v-neck as well as the front and sleeve buttons. Check out the Shop The Post below for some more blouse options for the summer 🙂
