Geometric Top + Olive Shorts

Happy Monday! Before I get into this geometric top and these olive shorts, I want to update you guys about something exciting that happened over the weekend regarding my move to Toronto 😀

Over the weekend, I finally pulled the trigger and booked a place for the 10 weeks I am in Toronto. If you remember from this post, I’ll be taking a full-time course in web development with the hopes of picking up a skill to help me get my next long-term job. FYI: I’m currently laid off. More posts on this soon.

I decided to book an apartment through Airbnb. I have a cozy private room with a double bed in the basement of a modest house. The host family will be living above me and I’ll be sharing the kitchen and bathroom with 1-2 people. The only thing that sucks is the 1-hour commute to Brainstation 🙁

Have you ever lived with a roommate? Any tips? I know I will have at least one – maximum, two.

Coffee Catchup

I came up with this look spur-of-the-moment. A friend of mine had just come back from exchange in Lyon, France and wanted to catch up. I wanted to be comfortable and mindful of the heat but I also wanted to make a good first impression since we hadn’t seen each other in a long time 🙂

This geometric top is one of the rare printed tops in my closet. I bought it last summer because I needed something to spice up my top inventory. When I spotted it abandoned in my closet, I decided to give it a go.

To balance out the print with something I was comfortable with, I paired it with these olive shorts which have been on repeat all summer. Generally, I prefer wearing pants to shorts because pants are more flattering for my thighs. Shorts just really accentuate how full my thighs are! 👿

Finally, I paired this burgundy skinny belt with the shorts to pull it all together. It adds extra visual detail and helps to bring out the pink in my top. I also wore black flats and a black bag to balance the warm tones of my outfit. When accessorizing, think about complementing colours!

I’m experimenting with the way I write my style posts. Do you prefer brief style posts?
